Possible Change of Regions / Sections??
The USFSA Strategic Planning Committee is considering the possibility of recommending a realignment of Regions and Sections. If implemented, this change would likely not occur until at least the 2004 season, but it could be proposed for discussion as early as this year's Governing Council. As conceived now, the changes would involve the addition of a 4th Section and 3 new Regions, as shown above (for reference, click here to see current alignment).

Anticipated benefits include the fact that more skaters could qualify for Sectional Competition each year (estimated at about 600 more per year), and most skaters would realize a savings in travel expenses, since most Regionals would be a little closer to home, and most would probably be reduced from the current 5-7 days down to 3 days.
