Pairs Elements - Group 1 Lifts
Group 1 lifts are known as "Hand-to-Armpit Lifts". The man places one hand under one arm in the armpit of the lady. He holds her other hand with his free hand, or may use it to support her other armpit. The takeoff position varies according to the lift; the lady's air position may be a simple split or a crossed split. The lady may release either or both hands to assume artistic positions. Common lifts in this group include the Lutz Lift, Flip Lift, and Axel Lift.
