Intermediate Competition Elements

Intermediate Short Program (SP)

Jumps
  • Axel or double Axel
  • Double jump from footwork
  • Jump combo with (single and double) or (2 doubles) (may not repeat either of above)
Spins
  • Spin with only 1 position and no change of foot. May commence with jump (5 revs min)
  • Combo spin with only 1 change of foot, and at least 1 change of position (min 5 revs/foot)
Moves Step sequence using full surface (straight line, circular, or serpentine), full ice.

Intermediate Well-Balanced Freeskate (FS)

Jumps Max of 6 jump elements
  • one must be Axel-type jump
  • at least 1 jump element must be combo or sequence (max 3)
Spins Max of 3 spins of a different nature:
  • one must be flying spin (5 revs)
  • one must be spin combo with at least 1 change of foot and at least 1 change of position (4 revs/foot)
Steps Max of 1 step sequence fully utilizing ice surface
Notes One jump combination may contain 3 jumps, the remaining are limited to 2 jumps. The number of jumps in a jump sequence is free. No double jump may be repeated more than once, and if repeated at least one must be in combination or sequence. Only one triple may be repeated, and if repeated, must be in combo or sequence. No more than 3 different double or triple jumps may be repeated. The maximum number of any particular double or triple jump in the program is 2. Any spin may begin with a flying entry.
