About Non-US Skaters Competing in USA
- Visiting skaters may test,
compete in non-qualifying competitions and perform
in shows with a letter of permission from their
home club/federation. Also remember, their club or
federation may have some requirements also. It
would not be possible for them to do qualifying
competitions (eg Regionals, Sectionals, Nationals)
because of the residency requirements and etc.
- Visiting skaters don't
necessarily need to be USFSA members. Some clubs
might require membership before a person can
participate in their activity, however. For
testing, these skaters pay a small additional fee
if not USFSA members.
- Synchro is possible also - there
are a number of non-quals for synchro. Check with
the USFSA's Synchro person, Kelly Hodge (khodge@usfigureskating.org)
if you have specific questions regarding
Synchronized skating.
- Contact Dalean Greenlee (Dgreenlee@usfigureskating.org)
at USFSA headquarters for any additional
clarification needed on this subject.
