Special Instructions for Emailing Access DBs Ever since the world got worried about the bad-guys spreading computer viruses through email, Microsoft has been "protecting us" from all those bad guys. One of the undesirable side-effects of their protection scheme though, is that its a lot harder to email some kinds of files, even when you have no evil intentions. One of the file types that they've made it harder to email is Access Database Files (anything with a ".mdb" extension). If you are emailing an Access file you need to do a little bit of "pre-work" before you can email it. Basically all you need to do is rename the file so that the extension is something that sounds benign, like ".mmm" instead of ".mdb". Now you're done renaming it. You can go back to your email program and send it. Piece of cake, right??? |
