How to Link to Clubs SuperList

Webmasters - link to Skating SuperList and provide your club's website with an up-to-date listing of clubs, rinks, or teams in your area. You can tailor the list to suit your own needs. Its easy!! Just follow the directions below.

For Lists of Clubs:

To provide a list of clubs, you should make a link to a page on the Figure Skater's Website called http://sk8stuff.com/utility/lister_clubs.asp. However, if you just link to that page without giving it any special instructions it will list all of the clubs it knows about -- that'll be a pretty long list, and its probably not what you want. So you give it some special instructions using special command extensions to the address. Basically, you just make the address "longer" by using special command text following the basic address.

Listing all clubs in your State:

For instance, if you want to list all the clubs in your state, you would append the string "?stap=XX" to the address, substituting your state's 2-letter postal abbreviation for the XX. So if you live in Michigan, you would insert the following link into your page:

<a href= "http://sk8stuff.com/utility/lister_clubs.asp?stap=MI">List of all Michigan Clubs</a>

Listing all clubs in your Region:

Similarly, if you want to list all the clubs in your Region, you would append the string "?reg=XXX" to the address, substituting the appropriate abbreviation code for your region for "XXX". The codes are: NE, NA, SA, EGL, SW, UGL, CP, NP, and SP. So if you want to see all Upper Great Lakes clubs, you would insert the following link into your page:

<a href= "http://sk8stuff.com/utility/lister_clubs.asp?reg=UGL">List all the Clubs in the Far North</a>

Listing all clubs in your Section:

If you want to list all the clubs in your Section, you would append the string "?sec=X" to the address, substituting the appropriate abbreviation code for your section for "X". Here, the codes are: E, M, and P.

Listing all clubs within a telephone Area Code:

If you want to list all the clubs that have RINK phones within a specified telephone area code, you would append the string "?area=XXX" to the address. You guessed it, the "XXX" is replaced with the digits of the area code.

Getting specific - listing only those clubs with Websites:

How 'bout if you only want to list those clubs that have websites??? Sure. You just need to append another string to the end of the command you've already formed. The string will be either "?web=1" or "&web=1". If you're not using any of the previous "limit strings" you would use the "?web=1" form. However, if you've already used any kind of limiter, you'd use the second form. The following 2 examples will show this better:

<a href= "http://sk8stuff.com/utility/lister_clubs.asp?web=1">List all US Clubs with websites</a>
<a href= "http://sk8stuff.com/utility/lister_clubs.asp?reg=EGL&web=1">List all EGL Clubs with websites</a>

One last trick - listing only certain kinds of clubs:

Finally, what if you only want to list collegiate clubs, or high school clubs, or "non-school" clubs?? For that, you use the "&type=X" qualifier. Just like the "?web=1" qualifier noted above, you should use this in either a "&type=X" or "?type=X" form, depending upon your other limitations. The values you may substitute for X are as follow:

If you don't put a "type" command at all, it just lists all the clubs it knows about

For Lists of Rinks:

Listing Rinks is very similar to listing Clubs. The basic difference is that you call a different program. For rinklists, make your link to the following page: sk8stuff.com/utility/lister_rinks.asp. The same general scheme for limitations works too, except there aren't quite as many options. For rink lists, the following commands work: "?stap=XX" and "?area=XXX".

For Lists of Sync Teams:

Listing Teams is also similar to listing Clubs. Again, the significant difference is that you call a different program. For Team lists, make your link to the following page: http://sk8stuff.com/utility/lister_teams.asp. And again, the same general scheme for limitations works too. For Team lists, the following commands work: "?stap=XX" and "?area=XXX", "?sec=X", and "reg=XXX".

Actually, there's one additional command available for Team lists. If you append a "?team=2" to the commandstring, it will sort the list in order of Team Name. If you don't append the command, it will sort in order of Club Name.
